Our name reflects the idea of territory and of the’peripheral space that connects the city with nature, as well as the development of a architecture rooted in the place and its identity.
The word “RODAL” has two meanings that define the raison d’être of our study. On the one hand, it refers to a a piece of land that stands out from its surroundings due to some circumstance; on the other hand, it is a sabadellenskiism which refers to the peripheral threshold spaces between the city and nature. These two concepts express our team's desire to develop, both in methodology and in result, a practice far from the current hegemonic canon, while maintaining a deep bond with the territory.
To RODAL we believe and practice a dialectical relationship between theory and practice, understanding them as complementary concepts that cannot be explained without each other. Thus, while we carry out our architectural projects, we develop a theoretical framework which allows us to project with coherence and conceptual evolution.
This methodology, which combines the knowledge search with his/her practical execution, is the basis on which the two branches of the study are structured: the consultancy and the’architecture.
Therefore, the study is defined by the contrast of concepts that, far from implying contradiction, they add complexity and richness in our proposals and strategies.
